An Italian manufacturer of mechanical test systems approached Zhongsheng with a requirement for several types of lifting and material handling equipment for its workshop. Rather than purchasing each machine separately, the customer needed a coordinated solution covering overhead lifting, pallet transport, stacking, and electric lifting.
Based on the customer's workshop dimensions, load requirements, operating conditions, and European compliance needs, we supplied a customized gantry crane together with a manual pallet truck, manual stacker, and CE-marked electric chain hoist. We also coordinated the packaging and loading plan so the equipment could be consolidated into the customer's existing 40 ft high-cube container.

The customer's initial inquiry focused on a gantry crane. They provided a reference image of an adjustable-height model and asked whether a similar unit was available from stock.
After discussing the actual workshop conditions, however, it became clear that simply supplying the pictured standard model would not be the best solution. The customer required a gantry crane with dimensions adapted to the available working space and intended lifting operations.
At the same time, the workshop had several other material handling requirements. Loads needed to be moved at floor level, materials needed to be stacked and positioned, and an electric lifting solution was required for additional workshop operations.
This meant that the project was not simply about supplying one crane. The customer needed several pieces of equipment selected around different tasks while considering workshop dimensions, load capacities, floor conditions, electrical requirements, and European compliance.
The buyer first showed a picture of an adjustable-height gantry crane, but what the workshop actually needed was a fixed-height unit: 4 metres tall with about a 3 metre span, rated at 2 tonnes (the ceiling for that model). Our answer explained the trade-off honestly - the pictured model is adjustable, while the customised version is built at a fixed height of 4 m with a span of 3.2 m and a lifting-height range of 3.0-4.2 m - so the buyer could compare the two options instead of assuming the picture was what we would ship.

The same order included a 3 t manual hydraulic pallet truck (model 3t-550) fitted with double nylon wheels - with PP, nylon and PU wheel options explained so the buyer could choose by floor type - and a manual pallet stacker for lighter racking work. For lifting loads at height, a 2 t electric chain hoist with 3 m of lift was selected. Both 380 V and 220 V supply options were offered, and the buyer confirmed the CE certification and the CE mark on the product itself before finalising the hoist choice.

By treating the order as one coordinated material handling project rather than several independent product purchases, the final solution addressed both the customer's operational and logistics requirements.
The gantry crane configuration was determined according to the customer's actual workshop dimensions and lifting requirements instead of simply supplying the standard model shown in the initial reference image.
The combination of a gantry crane, pallet truck, manual stacker, and electric chain hoist provided different solutions for overhead lifting, floor-level transport, stacking, positioning, and powered lifting.
CE requirements for the electric chain hoist were confirmed during the selection process, together with relevant electrical specifications for the destination market.
The equipment packaging and loading plan was coordinated with the customer's existing 40 ft high-cube container, allowing several machines to be shipped together instead of requiring an additional standalone shipment.
This Italian project demonstrates why lifting equipment selection often requires more than comparing load capacities and prices.
A suitable solution may depend on:
Required load capacity
Lifting height and span
Workshop dimensions and available headroom
Floor conditions
Frequency of operation
Local electrical specifications
Compliance requirements
Packaging dimensions
Container space and shipping method
Confirming these factors before production can help customers select equipment that better matches the actual working environment while reducing potential installation, compatibility, and logistics issues.
Every workshop has different lifting heights, load capacities, space limitations, floor conditions, and material handling requirements.
Zhongsheng supplies gantry cranes, electric hoists, pallet trucks, stackers, and other lifting and material handling equipment for industrial applications. We can also help evaluate product specifications, customized dimensions, electrical requirements, and shipping options based on your project.
To help us recommend a suitable solution, send us:
Required load capacity
Lifting height and working dimensions
Workshop or installation drawings
Application and load information
